Our Role

• Undertook independent site monitoring for the funder through regular visits to review works completed, progress, and key risks.
• Assessed drawdown requests against the cost plan and progress on site to support fair, informed release of funds.
• Produced structured interim reports throughout, highlighting material issues, implications for completion, and any actions required.
• Flagged a compliance risk relating to planning conditions and reported the implications for delivery and assurance.

Key Considerations

• Planning route and strategy (including prior approval and subsequent planning betterment) influencing scheme outcomes.
• Maintaining alignment between design changes and planning conditions/approvals.
• Material changes and the effect on programme, approvals and delivery sequencing.

Outcome

• The funder’s interests were protected through independent monitoring and clear reporting on progress, cost and key risks throughout.
• Planning compliance was managed as a live issue throughout, reducing avoidable exposure for the funder.
