Our Role
- Undertook independent site monitoring for the funder through regular visits to review works completed, progress, and key risks.
- Assessed drawdown requests against the cost plan and progress on site to support fair, informed release of funds.
- Produced structured interim reports throughout, highlighting material issues, implications for completion, and any actions required.
- Completed a final review at project close-out to confirm funds could be safely released and certification/documentation was in place.
Key Considerations
- Building within the constraints of a plot shared under an existing planning permission.
- Use of Non-Material Amendment (NMA) applications to improve the scheme while maintaining compliance.
- Ecological constraints (including bats) influencing sequencing and timing of works.
Outcome
- The funder’s interests were protected through independent monitoring and clear reporting on progress, cost and key risks throughout.
Insight
Bat constraints can affect programme significantly — sequencing and mitigation requirements need to be planned early to avoid delay.
